A Tradition Unlike Any Other

A Tradition Unlike Any Other

“Sunday at the Masters”, the four best words in the English language, is almost here! The Masters is just the most incredible sporting event I have ever attended (which is saying a lot). Being in Fenway anytime is magical and watching Tom Brady win a Superbowl for my Patriots was one of my favorites but nothing compares to the Masters.

Watching the Masters was a yearly tradition for my family as I was growing up and we always had fabulous traditional southern fare to accompany the viewing. After moving to Georgia and being able to attend the Masters, I know that the food remains to be the most grand experience of the event. At Augusta National, they want attendees to feel like welcomed patrons to their club and never simply visiting guests. Much like our goal at Divine Home Fragrances, you will certainly feel welcome attending with us and enjoying the food as much as I do!

Egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches are the absolute classics, and the chicken sandwich is the perfect breakfast selection. Don’t pass up the peach ice-cream sandwich, oh and price gauge, they never do!

Look at these prices:

Egg Salad – $1.50
Pimento Cheese – $1.50
Bar-B-Que – $3.00

Georgia Pecan Caramel Popcorn – $1.50
Georgia Peach Ice Cream Sandwich – $2.00

Fresh Brewed Iced Tea – $2.00
Domestic Beer – $4.00
Import Beer – $5.00

Altogether these selections are under $20! And considering we are not getting an invite to the Champions Dinner, this fare is certainly worth your time, attention and appetite.

I actually love the rules of the Masters: no laying down, backward hats, running or cell phones. One of the most recognized traditions is the green jacket, awarded to the winner in Butler Cabin. The winning golfer is allowed to keep the green jacket for one year and then must return it and then is only able to wear it at the club. Every tradition of the Masters turns your attention to experiencing it as it was originally intended. As I settle in for a relaxing weekend of watching and admiring the gorgeous course, I am reminded of enjoying the Masters at different moments in my life. The southern flowers all abloom and the backdrop of the most majestic course on earth is sure to make you feel the grandeur and excitement. So grab your sunnies, a hat, a great southern cocktail and enjoy your weekend watching golf.

What is a tradition about the Masters you love the most?
